May 2025 - Webb's Family Pharmacy

What is the history of Webb’s Family Pharmacy?

Since 1860, Rochester citizens have passed through the doorway at 724 Main Street to find a drug store. It is an astounding span of time at one location. No local retail establishment can come close to matching it. Webb’s Family Pharmacy today is serving a sixth generation of customers, reaching back to founder Asa Plank. The longevity of this drug store locale has been marked by similar endurance among its proprietors: Plank: 27 years Ruh Family: 46 years Baxter Family: 49 years Harry Webb: 35 years at the Rochester location, Harry purchased Harris Drug in Akron in 1995 and opened a new location in North Manchester in 2018.

We hear you celebrated an anniversary recently! How did you celebrate? In April we hit the 35-year mark. We plan to hold a customer appreciation event this summer.

What makes Webb’s Family Pharmacy stand out from other pharmacies and why should Fulton County residents choose you? Not only is this location historic, but it is also a unique retail gem. All our staff work hard making your visit to our location enjoyable. We try and carry a wide variety of health care items and unique gifts. It’s just not the same stuff you see in the chain store pharmacies. Our motto is "Pharmacy Care you deserve" It defines our mission of serving our patients. We use a friendly, down-home approach to deliver quality pharmacy services. Our caring staff is constantly striving to expand the number of services we offer our patients. With stores in Rochester, Akron and North Manchester, Indiana, we serve our hometown communities by providing the highest quality medical equipment, supplies, and pharmacy services. We respect the rights of our clients/patients, and provide responsive, timely customer service. We ensure that members of our team receive ongoing continuing education so that they are knowledgeable about the latest home healthcare technology and can serve our clients/patients effectively.

To what do you attribute your current success?

Quality service, constant training, staff longevity, and caring for our patients like they are family.

How do you stay connected and give back to the communities that have supported your growth? We support our staff’s desires to give back to the community by getting involved in a wide variety of organizations. Our community thrives because of the volunteers trying to make a difference. When the community grows our business grows. It’s just that simple.

1. For those in our community who may not be familiar with Mustangs to Fear, tell us a little about what you do and the products and services you offer. In addition to restoring/building classic Mustangs, we have also developed a line of custom parts for 1965-70 Mustangs including suspension, interior, fiberglass, and engine swap parts. 2. How did Mustangs to Fear get its start, and what inspired you to build a business centered around the Ford Mustang? After working in the truck accessories and collision industry for several years, the company gradually settled on Mustangs. After getting frustrated at how much extra effort it took to make the products on the market fit, we decided it would be better to develop our own. 3. Mustangs to Fear serves customers well beyond Fulton County. Where are some of your customers located, and what might surprise people about the reach of your business? We ship our products all over the world. After the USA, Canada, Australia, and Europe are our largest markets. We frequently have customers come to our shop from eastern Canada and occasionally from western Canada to pick up their orders and tour the shop. 4. What goes on behind the scenes at Mustangs to Fear that the average person driving by your business might never realize? Probably the global reach of our business and our reputation for quality parts and outstanding customer service among those looking to restore their classic Mustang. 5. What do you enjoy most about operating Mustangs to Fear right here in Fulton County, and what has being part of this community meant to your business? We have the best customers and a truly outstanding team at MTF! Nearly all of the parts we sell are manufactured within 100 miles of Rochester. Not only buying American but also supporting local business is very important to the continued success of MTF
