FCCF Grants Support Positive School Culture at Riddle Elementary

Last spring, the Fulton County Community Foundation awarded $2,000 to Riddle Elementary School to support the implementation of The Riddle Way, a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiative designed to create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment for students in grades 2-5. An additional $500 was awarded through the Fulton County Ambassadors Club to further support the project.
Grant funding allowed the school to purchase custom “The Riddle Way” bracelets, schoolwide behavior expectation posters, and student incentive items. The bracelets serve as a visible symbol of students’ commitment to demonstrating respect, responsibility, and safety while also recognizing academic growth. Students who earn bracelets gain access to special PBIS activities and celebrations throughout the school year.
The project has helped establish clear behavioral expectations across the school while creating meaningful opportunities to recognize and celebrate student success. Through consistent reinforcement and positive recognition, students are encouraged to make responsible choices, demonstrate positive behavior, and take pride in their academic accomplishments.
The impact of The Riddle Way extends beyond incentives and rewards. The program has strengthened school culture by fostering a sense of belonging, school pride, and shared responsibility among students and staff. Schoolwide posters provide daily reminders of behavioral expectations, while incentive events create opportunities for students to be recognized for their efforts and achievements.
As the program continues to grow, the materials and systems established through this grant will provide lasting benefits for future students. By promoting positive behavior, academic growth, and a supportive learning environment, The Riddle Way is helping Riddle Elementary students “show their stripes” and build the skills needed for success both inside and outside the classroom.
