Community Foundation Awards $50,000 Grant to Support Matthew's Market

The Fulton County Community Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to support the renovation and rebuilding of Matthew's Market, helping expand access to food assistance for individuals and families throughout the community.

Operated primarily by The Cross Church with support from several neighboring churches, Matthew's Market provides food and essential resources to residents experiencing food insecurity. The renovation will create a more welcoming, private, and accessible space for those seeking assistance.

Funding from the Community Foundation will be used to improve the market's layout, allowing clients to shop in a more comfortable and dignified environment. The project will also make the facility ADA accessible through the addition of ramps and other accessibility improvements, ensuring that everyone can easily access the services Mathew's Market provides.

"We will be using this money to help the community and allow them to use the new market for their needs," said The Cross Minister Martin Furrow.

The rebuild is currently being supported by approximately 20 dedicated volunteers, and additional volunteers are always welcome. Community members interested in lending a hand are encouraged to get involved as the project continues to take shape.

Through this investment, the Fulton County Community Foundation is helping ensure Matthew's Market can continue serving local families in a space that reflects the care, dignity, and compassion at the heart of its mission.

4C Health began as Four County Comprehensive Mental Health Center in 1975. We have served as the designated Community Mental Health Center for Cass, Miami, Fulton, and Pulaski counties since that time. In the early 1980s, inpatient psychiatric services were added to the continuum of behavioral health services the center offered. Starting in 2015, we began a growth journey to meet needs of additional surrounding rural communities. The post July 2024 – 4C Health appeared first on Fulton County Chamber of Commerce - IN.
